What are you going to find out in this webpage?
This is a web page which contains information about the cells cycle. Specificly it will talk about mitosis, its four phases and lastly it will include a summary of the information given.
What is the cycle a cell takes through its life?
The cell cycle is an ordered set of events a cell undertakes through its journey of life, by growing, developing and dividing into two daughter cells. First, it undergoes a phase called Interphase. Where G1, S, and G2 occurs. Interphase is a period where the nucleus can be seen. Chromosomes can not be seen yet , but they are actively duplicating themselves. Then, it moves to mitosis , and finally to cytokinesis.
During G1- here there is growth and normal metabolic roles
During the S phase- the DNA replicates or copies. It creates two identical copies of itself.
During G2- the cell prepares for division. Organelles are duplicated (like mitochondria, lysosomes, ribosomes).
If we go deeply into mitosis , the cell passes through four main steps. These are called: Prophase, Metaphase, Anaphase and Telophase.
